Why are so many GREAT mid-2000s RBs forgotten?

To me, the late 1990s and early 2000s was the “Age of the Tailback”. It reached its peak in the mid 2000s when the TD record was broken 3 years in a row. LT, the Bus, and for some reason Tiki always got the attention back then, so I feel like they are not forgotten today. With the 2010 rule changes I get that it’s a pass-first league now, but Priest, Curtis Martin, Deuce Mc, Corey Dillon, Shaun A., Portis, MJD, JLew, Ahman Green, Steven Jackson, etc were running shit not that long ago. Also a shoutout to the Broncos RB “system” which is just as forgotten. Could plug almost anyone in there after T.D. (who made it unstoppable) got hurt and they got 1000 Why are we not celebrating this era more? It was awesome. I’m probably forgetting a bunch too submitted by /u/LTHz2142 [visit reddit] [comments]
